Job Description

Groundskeeper and Facilities Support Worker Location:
Paducah, KY Job Type:

Full-time

• Day shift with occasional OT/weekend rotation for weather or special clean-ups About the role We are seeking a reliable Groundskeeper to keep our communities clean, safe, and welcoming. You'll handle daily litter/trash removal, mowing and trimming, seasonal work (leaf/snow), and help spot and report maintenance issues across multiple properties. What you'll do Perform daily trash & litter removal around buildings, dumpster pads, breezeways, parking lots, and common areas.

Groundskeeping/landscaping:

mow, trim/edge, blow, weed, prune, mulch, and leaf cleanup.

Seasonal tasks:

snow/ice removal and salt application; storm debris clean-up.

Common-area upkeep:

sweep/pressure wash walkways and entries; empty outdoor receptacles.

Bulk/illegal dumping:

assist with pick-ups and stage items for disposal.

Equipment care:

fuel, clean, and perform basic checks on mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools; report issues. Safety & reporting: follow

OSHA/PPE

guidelines; report hazards, vandalism, pests, and maintenance needs; submit simple work logs or work orders.

Team support:

assist maintenance on unit clean-outs and special projects as assigned. Provide courteous, professional interaction with residents and coworkers. What you'll need Valid driver's license and insurable driving record. Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently across multiple sites. Basic knowledge of grounds tools/equipment (we'll train). Ability to read/follow labels, safety instructions, and simple route/work logs. Professional, customer-service mindset. Preferred (nice to have) 6+ months of groundskeeping/landscaping, janitorial, or property upkeep experience. Experience with pressure washers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, or irrigation basics. Familiarity working in residential communities and fair housing awareness. Physical & work conditions Work outdoors in all weather (heat, cold, rain, snow). Stand, walk, bend, kneel, push/pull throughout the shift. Lift/move up to 50-75 lbs using proper techniques/equipment. Exposure to typical grounds hazards (debris, chemicals, noise) — PPE provided/required. Screening & employment requirements Pre-employment drug screen and MVR; background per policy. Ability to be insured under the Authority's vehicle policy and covered under the Authority's fidelity bond.
