Salary Job Summary:
Site-Prep Superintendent are responsible for overseeing and maintaining ongoing projects.
Duties and Job Functions:
  • Familiarize jobs as assigned to you by Division Manager and Assistant Division Manager including takeoffs, plans, estimate, schedules, work order, cost reports, and meet with Project Manager when necessary.
  • Attend project meetings when needed.
  • Visit the job site routinely prior to any work commencing.
  • Check current site conditions of projects before crews arrive to ensure an accurate schedule.
  • Coordinate and attend proof roll/s.
  • Review checklist before building project schedule.
  • Establish a project schedule, update weekly coordinating with Project Manager for projects and submit it to Project Coordinator.
  • Coordinate and schedule survey team to verify and check dirt grade before stone installation and stone grade before asphalt installation.
  • Coordinate and schedule a handoff to asphalt superintendents. Include Site Layout.
  • On possible rain days you are expected to put eyes on project to determine if it is workable. Rain days are to be used as catch-up days and planning for upcoming work.
  • Setting up correct material and trucking for project. The type of stone, asphalt and pipe required.
  • Working closely with field personnel to provide scope of work to be performed.
  • Comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
  • Review and approve timecards daily by 2 pm.
  • Submit crew sheet daily to Project Manager for review prior to submission.
  • Complete daily and weekly job-related documentation. Crew sheets, schedules, sign offs and what is needed for projects.
  • Performs other duties as necessary or assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of road and traffic regulations.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to remain focused in a busy environment.
  • Availability to work variable hours and days to meet business needs.
  • Review grade data prior to starting project and comprehend plan drawings.
  • Understand the order of operations for building a project.
Required Education and Experience:
  • Valid driver's license.
  • High school Diploma or GED.
  • 5 years' work experience in/or related field.
  • Eligible to be underwritten on the company's insurance policy.
  • Working knowledge of construction order of operations and road safety regulations.
  • OSHA 30

Work Environment:
  • Prolonged periods sitting in a truck cab for long periods of time.
  • Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration from moving mechanical parts.
  • Exposure to asphalt plants and construction sites may include uneven terrain and various weather conditions.
