Comprehensive Benefits Package, Paid Time Off (PTO), Professional Advancement The Opportunity We are an established, high-end residential design-build firm seeking a skilled, hands-on Construction Superintendent and Custom Home Lead Carpenter to manage job sites and elevate our building standards. In this working foreman role, you will work on the tools daily while simultaneously directing field crews, mentoring apprentices, and coordinating with subcontractors and project managers. You will take full operational ownership of field builds across luxury custom homes and high-end residential remodels, ensuring structural integrity, precision finish quality, and on-time delivery. Key Responsibilities On-Site Field Leadership:
Coordinate daily field operations and lead a dedicated team of journeyman carpenters, apprentices, and field laborers.
Expert Hands-on Craftsmanship:
Perform expert-level timber framing, structural modifications, architectural millwork, custom cabinetry, and fine interior trim carpentry.
Blueprint & Plan Interpretation:
Read, navigate, and build directly from complex architectural blueprints, structural schematics, structural engineering drawings, and design specifications.
Subcontractor & Trade Coordination:
Direct, schedule, and monitor specialized trade subcontractors (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, masonry) while auditing quality standards.
Client & Stakeholder Relations:
Serve as the primary on-site point of contact, communicating progress updates professionally to home owners, architects, and project managers.
Safety & Cal/OSHA Compliance:
Monitor and strictly enforce Cal/OSHA workplace safety standards, jobsite cleanliness, and daily safety practices.
Schedule & Budget Oversight:
Monitor project timelines, track material allocations, and ensure builds progress efficiently within budget parameters. What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)
Required Industry Tenure:
5 to 7+ years of dedicated residential construction experience, with heavy emphasis on high-end custom home builds and structural remodeling.
Supervisory Leadership:
Minimum 2 years of experience operating in a supervisory capacity as a working foreman, jobsite lead, or field superintendent. Tools of the
Trade:
Ownership of a complete set of professional hand tools and standard power tools appropriate for a master/journeyman carpenter.
Mobility Credentials:
Valid California Driver License with a clean, insurable driving record.
Physical Capability:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb scaffolding/ladders, and handle strenuous physical installation tasks in changing weather conditions.
Preferred Trade Expertise:
Custom cabinetry installation, high-end finish millwork, and advanced structural framing experience.
Construction Tech Familiarity:
Ability to read digital plans and navigate mobile construction management software.
Compensation & Benefits Guaranteed Hourly Pay:
$35.00 to $50.00 per hour, commensurate with custom residential leadership experience.
