We are seeking an experienced Property Restoration/Carpenter for a
DIRECT HIRE
opportunity with our Newark, Delaware client to perform high-quality carpentry and general construction work in residential and commercial properties. This role is ideal for a skilled craftsman who has experience restoring properties following water, fire, storm or other damage and can take a project from assessment through completion. The Master Carpenter will be responsible for framing, structural repairs, finish carpentry, and rebuilding damaged areas while maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate damaged structures and determine the appropriate repairs and restoration methods. Perform framing, structural repairs, and reconstruction of walls, ceilings, floors, doors and other building components. Complete both rough and finish carpentry, including trim, molding, cabinetry, doors, and other finished woodwork. Remove and replace damaged building materials as part of restoration projects. Assist with restoration following water, fire, smoke, storm and other property damage Read and intrepret blueprints, drawings, measurements, and project specifications. Install, repair and modify wood, drywall, flooring, doors, windows, and related building materials Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively. Inspect completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements. Work collaboratively with project managers, restoration technicians, contractors, and other trades. Maintain a clean organized and safe environment. Ensre all work is completed according to applicable building codes, safety regulations, and company standards. Provide guidance and technical expertise to less-experienced carpenters and restoration personnel. Required Qualifications 5+ years of professional carpentry experience, preferable in property restoration, remodeling, or reconstruction. Strong experience with both rough and finish carpentry. Demonstrated experience repairing and rebuilding structures damaged by water, fire, storms and other causes. Ability to accurately measure, cut, fit and install building materials. Ability to read blueprints, contsruction plans, and project specifications. Proficiency with hand and power tools. Strong knowledge of residential and/or commercial construction practices. Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to safely lift and move materials and perform physically demanding work.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with insurance restoration projects. Experience working with restoration companies such as SERVPRO, BELFOR, Service Master, or similar organizations. Knowledge of local building codes and restoration standards Experience leading crews or mentoring apprentice/junior carpenters. Relevant carpentry, construction, or restoration certifications. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined or difficult to access areas. Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver construction materials and equipment. Ability to work in properties that may be undergoing restoration and may contain dust, debris, moisture, or other job-site conditions. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a highly skilled Master Carpenter and problem solver who takes pride in their craftsmanship and has a proven track record of rebuilding and restoring damaged properties. They should be comfortable working in changing job-site conditions, identifying solutions to challenging structural issues, and producing high-quality finished work.
