Maintenance Electrician Location:

$28.00/hour or higher, depending on experience Job Summary Penmac Staffing is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to support the safe and efficient operation of industrial manufacturing equipment and facility electrical systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical equipment while ensuring compliance with all applicable safety regulations and industry standards. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and serves as a technical resource for electrical maintenance activities throughout the facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely install, maintain, troubleshoot, test, and repair industrial electrical equipment and facility systems.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing machinery and equipment to ensure reliable operation.
  • Evaluate equipment performance and recommend improvements to preventive maintenance programs.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical components within:
    o 24VDC systems
    o 120VAC systems
    o 240VAC systems
    o 480VAC systems
    o 600VAC systems (where applicable)
  • Work with electrical components including:
    o Motors
    o Breakers
    o Fuses
    o Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
    o Solid State Relays (SSRs)
    o Power supplies
  • Troubleshoot and maintain instrumentation and PLC-related components including:
    o Thermocouples
    o Encoders
    o I/O cards
    o PLCs
    o Light curtains
    o Safety scanners
  • Apply and communicate NEC, NFPA, OSHA, and applicable safety requirements during maintenance, repairs, and equipment installations.
  • Utilize electrical testing equipment such as:
    o Multimeters
    o Amp meters o Meggers
    o Circuit tracers
    o Thermal cameras
  • Assist maintenance teams with equipment rebuilds, plant shutdowns, and new equipment installations.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and support all departments in minimizing downtime. Qualifications
  • Previous experience as an Industrial Electrician, Maintenance Electrician, or similar role required.
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and controls.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC Ladder Logic, including Allen Bradley, Siemens, or Omron systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documents.
  • Working knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work in industrial environments for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
