Job Description

The Kearney Companies is a Site & Utilities Contractor based in Riverview, FL. Locally owned and operated for over 70 years, we offer competitive pay, strong benefits, and long-term growth opportunities. Our projects include site development, underground utilities, roadway construction, lift stations, and public infrastructure work throughout the Tampa Bay area. Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced Lift Station Foremen and Laborers to join our team. These positions will support the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater lift stations and related utility infrastructure. Candidates should be dependable, safety-focused, and committed to delivering quality work while maintaining project schedules. Foremen will be responsible for leading crews, coordinating daily activities, and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently. Laborers will assist with excavation, pipe installation, concrete work, site preparation, and other tasks related to lift station and utility construction. Successful candidates will have a strong work ethic, the ability to work in a team environment, and a desire to grow with a company that values safety, quality, and long-term employee development. Lift Station Foreman Lead and supervise crews performing lift station construction, installation, maintenance, and repair work. Plan, coordinate, assign, and oversee daily crew activities. Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications. Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and utility drawings. Coordinate with Superintendents, Project Managers, inspectors, subcontractors, and utility representatives. Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce company safety policies and procedures. Maintain accurate production reports, time records, and project documentation. Operate and oversee the use of heavy equipment, tools, and materials. Inspect work for quality control and compliance with project requirements. Troubleshoot field issues and implement solutions to maintain productivity. Ensure proper maintenance of assigned vehicles and equipment. Participate in emergency response activities and other duties as assigned. Laborers Assist in lift station construction, installation, and repair activities. Perform excavation, trenching, pipe installation, concrete work, grading, and site preparation. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment as assigned. Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting materials and equipment. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Follow all company safety procedures and project requirements. Work effectively as part of a team to meet project schedules. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Foreman Minimum of 3 years of experience underground utility, wastewater, or related heavy civil construction. Previous supervisory or crew leadership experience preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Knowledge of lift station components, underground utilities, and construction practices. Understanding of applicable safety regulations and standards. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Laborers Construction experience preferred but not required. Experience with underground utilities, concrete, pipe work, grading, or site development is a plus. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift up to 100 pounds. Reliable transportation. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
