Project Assistant Bid Coordinator Project Manager Estimator Detailer Where you would start and what you would own. Project Support- keep the job tracker current from award through detailing, approval, fabrication and delivery, and chase down whatever holds a job up Submittals and job files: assemble submittal packages, log drawing approvals and revisions, keep contracts, purchase orders and change orders filed where the team can find them.

The bid calendar:

track invitations to bid, pull plans and addenda from plan rooms and GC portals and make sure nothing slips past its due date. Where will you go and what you can become.

Takeoffs:

quantify reinforcing steel from structural and civil drawings items such as footings, walls, slabs, elevated decks, retaining walls, vaults etc.

Proposals:

assemble clean, on-time proposals from the takeoff and provide clear inclusions, exclusions and assumptions.

Follow-up:

call GCs for bid results, field scope questions, and hand awarded jobs to project management and detailing with everything they need to start.

Detailing:

Detailers are few and far between. If you enjoy critical thinking, performing under pressure and have an interest in learning the craft, this is a great starting point. We will provide you with the tools to learn. What we're looking for. (This is a rough base line. Not the end all be all) You keep things organized: trackers, logs, files and follow-up lists, and you notice when something is slipping before anyone asks. You have a baseline understanding of construction drawings. You hold up under deadline pressure. Construction is a moving target and should be okay with shifting timelines. You're comfortable on the phone with contractors and customers. Extensive knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft software is a big plus. Rebar, concrete, precast or structural steel experience is a plus.
