Clerk of the Works Ultimate Staffing Services - 3.8 East Hartford, CT Job Details Contract $24 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Qualifications OSHA (regulatory compliance area) Construction safety management Outdoor work experience High school diploma or GED Construction workplace safety regulations Full Job Description Ultimate Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Clerk of the Works to support oversight of construction projects for one of our valued clients. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in construction, building maintenance, or facilities operations to play a vital role in ensuring quality control, documentation, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle. If you're passionate about construction, have a sharp eye for detail, and enjoy working independently while collaborating with project teams-this role is for you. Hourly:
$24 per hour

Medical, dental, vision, Onsite Position - Work hands-on at active construction sites with a dynamic project team What you will be doing: Monitor construction sites to ensure all work is performed according to contract documents and specifications. Maintain daily logbooks detailing work performed, site conditions, and contractor progress. Attend project meetings as the owner's on-site representative and report key updates. Track and document changes, approvals, and construction activities in an organized and efficient manner. Assist Project Manager with final walkthroughs and ensure proper documentation is completed for project close-out. Coordinate and communicate regularly with the project manager regarding progress, issues, and any required interventions. Observe safety practices and report non-compliance as necessary.
What qualifications you need:
2-5 years of experience in construction, building maintenance, or a related field High school diploma or GED required Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and basic construction site safety practices Excellent documentation, observation, and organizational skills Ability to work in varied environments, including confined spaces and outdoor conditions Strong verbal and written communication skills Self-starter with the ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with others All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
