Duties Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and panels in residential settings. Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure precise installation and maintenance. Conduct electrical diagnostics to identify issues quickly and implement effective solutions. Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes, NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and safety procedures. Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks for specialized systems when required. Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment safely and effectively during electrical work. Collaborate with clients and team members to plan projects, provide estimates, and ensure timely completion of tasks. Qualifications Proven experience as a residential electrician with knowledge of electrical systems in new construction and renovation projects. Experience working with industrial or commercial electrical systems is a plus. Strong understanding of NFPA 70 compliance standards and local electrical codes. Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams accurately. Skilled in troubleshooting complex electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and high-voltage wiring is desirable. Hands-on experience with electrical wiring installation on construction sites or renovation projects. Knowledge of electrical safety procedures to prevent accidents during installation or repairs. Ability to operate power tools safely while maintaining high standards of quality workmanship. Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting issues efficiently. Valid electrician license or certification as required by local regulations; additional certifications in industrial or commercial electrical work are advantageous.
