Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team in our Auburn office. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates and managing the bid process from review through proposal delivery. Candidates must have a minimum of three years of estimating experience, be willing to travel for site visits as needed, and work on-site in Auburn.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities for the position include the items listed below. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. Estimating Manages entire bid process from initial scope review meeting through client delivery. Follows approved estimating practices consistent with company guidelines. Reviews drawings and specifications to develop subcontractor-specific scope of work (SOW) to support bidding process. Coordinates with Project Manager in creation of project schedules. Develops final proposals and budgets for approval by management. Solicits and evaluates subcontractor bids for conformance to project specifications, price, material quality, and related items. Performs site visits/job walks as necessary. Comply with and adhere to company policies including strict compliance with meal and rest period and timekeeping requirements. Project Engineering As needed, based on load leveling, estimating demands and the requirements of the
PE Department:
Accurately sets up and maintains project information in Procore and Master Builder software systems. Initiates and provides appropriate computer aided designs (CADs) to fire sprinkler/alarm subcontractors during design or as deferred approval. Issues Notices to Proceed (NTP) and subcontracts once purchase orders are received. Provides subcontractors with all project-related documents, drawings, and schedules. Inputs resources on project schedule for Superintendent's daily log. Sets up and maintains submittal schedule ensuring that long lead times and critical path items are prioritized. Assists Project Superintendent with submittals as necessary, including following up on all pending submittals. Establishes and maintains files on subcontractors, bid package records, plans, specifications, and Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) documents. Attends weekly Owner, Architect, Contractor (OAC) and design meetings via conference call and reviews weekly project meeting minutes. Reviews and understands Requests for Information, regularly interfacing with Project Superintendent to ensure all Request for Information/Change Event (RFI/CEs) issues are clearly understood. Generates Potential Change Orders (PCOs) for client submittal and coordinates with Project Manager to ensure Prime Contract Change Orders (PCCOs) are approved by client. Provides the Project Manager with status update of projects at weekly meetings. Provides leadership to the Project Engineering Assistant (PEA), delegating tasks and providing oversight as needed for assigned work including distribution of construction drawing/documentation to all field personnel. Comply with and adhere to company policies including strict compliance with meal and rest period and timekeeping requirements. Qualifications Required Minimum 3 years of estimating experience Must be a current Estimator or have directly related estimating experience Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications Willingness to travel for site visits Ability to work on-site in the Auburn, CA office (this position is not remote) Preferred Degree in Construction Management or related field Experience in healthcare facilities construction Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Procore or Master Builder a plus
Pay:
$90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
