Job Description

Tile Decor Inc. is seeking a Tile Installation Estimator / Sales Consultant to evaluate projects, prepare accurate estimates, and guide residential and commercial clients through consultation, proposal development, and approval. Projects include tile floors, walls, showers, backsplashes, and repairs. This role requires understanding the preparation, materials, installation methods, and labor needed to complete the work. You will assess site conditions, define clear scopes, and provide the installation team with a complete project handoff. Key Responsibilities Client Consultation & Sales Meet with prospective clients to understand their goals, budget, timing, and tile installation needs. Explain installation options, preparation requirements, and factors affecting cost. Clarify material selections and purchasing responsibilities. Present proposals, answer questions, and follow up consistently to secure project approval. Coordinate scheduling expectations with operations before making client commitments. Site Evaluation & Estimating Evaluate jobsites, take accurate measurements, and document conditions with labeled photographs and notes. Assess substrates, demolition, surface preparation, waterproofing, transitions, access, and other conditions affecting tile installation. Estimate labor, tile quantities, waste, setting materials, equipment, disposal, and other applicable costs. Use client-provided photographs, measurements, drawings, and specifications as appropriate; obtain additional information or site measurements when needed. Confirm supplier pricing and apply company-approved labor rates and pricing requirements. Identify installation challenges, resolve missing information, and document assumptions, exclusions, and conditions requiring further confirmation. Consult management or field personnel when technical questions or work outside the tile scope require review. Proposals & Documentation Prepare clear proposals describing the work by project area, installation requirements, material responsibilities, allowances, exclusions, and pricing. Take responsibility for estimate accuracy and completeness before presenting proposals. Maintain measurements, photographs, estimates, communications, revisions, and follow-up status in JobTread. No prior JobTread experience is required; training will be provided. Ensure approved proposals reflect the agreed scope and documented changes. Project Handoff & Support Prepare a complete handoff with the approved scope, measurements, site photographs, installation requirements, and outstanding decisions. Review project details with operations or the field lead before scheduling or procurement. Clearly identify unresolved items and who is responsible for addressing them. Remain available after approval to clarify estimating assumptions and scope questions and assist with pricing changes. Review estimated versus actual costs with management to improve future estimates. Qualifications Relevant experience in tile installation, tile estimating, or tile sales involving installation knowledge. Practical understanding of substrates, surface preparation, waterproofing, setting materials, and installation methods. Ability to measure accurately and calculate material quantities and project costs. Strong client communication, proposal presentation, and follow-up skills. Comfortable using spreadsheets, digital documentation, and learning estimating software. Ideal Candidate You understand what it takes to install tile successfully and can explain that work clearly to clients. You ask questions, recognize missing information, and follow through. You are to provide accurate estimates, clear proposals, and a complete handoff that allows the installation team to execute what was promised.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
