Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated CDL Class A Heavy Duty Tow Truck Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy-duty tow trucks to recover, tow, and transport vehicles efficiently and securely. Responsibilities Safely operate heavy-duty tow trucks, including flatbed and other specialized equipment, to recover and transport vehicles of various sizes and types. Securely load and unload vehicles onto tow trucks following cargo securement protocols to prevent damage during transit. Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and minor repairs on vehicles to facilitate recovery or towing operations. Conduct vehicle inspections prior to each shift to ensure all equipment is functioning properly and safety standards are met. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients, dispatchers, and emergency responders during roadside assistance or recovery operations. Follow all safety procedures related to vehicle recovery towing, cargo securement, and safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks. Maintain accurate logs of all jobs performed, including details of vehicle condition, location, and services provided. Qualifications Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record; experience driving commercial trucks with manual transmissions preferred. Proven experience in automotive diagnostics, automotive repair, or vehicle mechanics for truck drivers. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform minor mechanical repairs and basic vehicle troubleshooting. Familiarity with cargo securement protocols, vehicle recovery towing, and safe vehicle loading techniques. Excellent driving skills with experience in commercial truck driving environments. Ability to manage conflict effectively while maintaining professionalism under pressure. Knowledge of forklift operation is a plus for handling various loading tasks.
