Competitive hourly wage based on experience + overtime opportunities About Us We are a growing landscape construction and site restoration contractor looking for a dependable Equipment Operator to join our team. We take pride in producing high-quality finished grades and preparing sites for successful seeding and stabilization. Position Summary The Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating skid steers and other compact equipment to perform fine grading, soil preparation, and finish work prior to hydroseeding and erosion control installation. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to read grade stakes and plans, and a commitment to producing clean, professional results. Responsibilities Operate skid steers, compact track loaders, mini excavators, and other equipment safely and efficiently. Perform fine grading and final soil preparation for lawns, commercial sites, and construction projects. Prepare soil for hydroseeding, straw mulching, and erosion control applications. Spread and shape topsoil to achieve smooth, uniform finish grades. Assist with installation of erosion control products including silt fence, compost filter socks, erosion control blankets, and wattles. Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance. Work alongside hydroseeding and erosion control crews as needed. Follow project plans, grade stakes, and supervisor direction. Maintain a clean and safe job site. Be able to perform and help out with labor duties when needed. Qualifications Experience operating skid steers required. Experience with compact excavators, loaders, tractors, or similar equipment preferred. Ability to perform finish grading with attention to detail. Experience in landscaping, excavation, site work, grading, or erosion control is preferred. Valid driver's license required (CDL is a strongly requested). Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Dependable, self-motivated, and safety-conscious. Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
