The ideal candidate has strong electrical troubleshooting skills, understands monitoring platforms, and can safely perform repairs, upgrades, and warranty work on rooftops and at ground level.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and service residential solar energy and battery storage systems, including but not limited to SolarEdge, Enphase, Franklin, and Tesla platforms. Utilize and maintain accurate records within required software platforms, databases, service forms, and mobile applications, including JobNimbus, Viber, Natural Forms, and similar systems. Conduct site surveys using company-approved drone equipment, demonstrating the ability to safely operate and assume responsibility for unmanned aerial systems in compliance with applicable regulations. Adhere to all OSHA regulations, National Electrical Code (NEC) standards, and company safety policies to ensure a safe work environment. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customer support representatives to deliver efficient, reliable, and customer-focused service. Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers, demonstrating technical competence, integrity, and a commitment to quality workmanship. Perform residential solar system installations, service work, and troubleshooting as needed. Demonstrate familiarity with Enphase and SolarEdge systems, including installation, diagnostics, and repairs. Maintain working knowledge of photovoltaic (PV) system components, including modules, inverters, optimizers, batteries, disconnects, and related electrical equipment. Troubleshoot system performance issues, including low production, communication failures, offline systems, and equipment malfunctions. Utilize and interpret monitoring platforms such as Enphase Enlighten, SolarEdge Monitoring, and similar applications to identify and resolve system issues. Safely operate and maintain basic hand tools and power tools including drills, tool belts, pipe benders, tape measures, screwdrivers, pliers sets, and related trade equipment. Other duties as assigned. Safely access and navigate single- and two-story residential structures, including the ability to transport, position, and climb ladders in accordance with safety protocols. Repair and replace malfunctioning system components such as inverters, optimizers, microinverters, and communication-related hardware. Activate, commission, and validate newly installed solar and battery systems in compliance with manufacturer requirements, maintaining all required certifications (e.g., Enphase University, SolarEdge Academy, Tesla certifications).
Qualifications Requirements:
2+ years of hands-on solar installation or service experience. Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation that can carry tools and equipment Active smartphone (for apps, photos, monitoring, reports) Strong understanding of SolarEdge and Enphase IQ7/IQ8 systems. Familiarity with optimizers, microinverters, and string inverter setups. Experience with monitoring platforms (SolarEdge, Enphase Enlighten, FranklinWH, etc.)
Qualifications Preferred:
Texas Journeyman or Apprentice Electrician license. Battery system experience (FranklinWH, Enphase, SolarEdge Energy, Tesla Powerwall). Knowledge of NEC compliance and rapid shutdown systems.
