Full Job Description Job Description:
Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from requisitioning department for substitutes Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history Provides purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals and review requisitions for goods and services Negotiate, or renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives. Confer with operations and/or engineering, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and in the event of problems trace shipments and follow up undelivered goods Manage Vendor score cards Work with vendors to establish appropriate stocking agreements Work with local machine shops Ideal Candidate will have Previous OEM work experience Previous purchasing back ground Strong print reading skills Familiarity with machining practices Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft office applications MRP/ERP experience (Syteline) Strong attention to detail Superior communication skills Strong Multi-Tasking and Time Management skills Solutions orientated Willingness to learn and grow with the organization
