Director of Contract & Insurance Administration About the Role Schochet is seeking an experienced Director of Contract & Insurance Administration to oversee contract administration, insurance programs, claims, and risk management for a multifamily housing portfolio of approximately 40 residential properties. The Director will serve as the primary internal contact for contract, insurance, claims, and risk-management matters and will work closely with senior management, property teams, clients, partners, brokers, carriers, legal counsel, vendors, and contractors. Key Responsibilities Oversee contracts and ensure compliance with Company, legal, partner, and insurance requirements. Maintain contract records, renewal dates, and standardized service agreements. Manage vendor insurance requirements and certificates of insurance. Coordinate annual insurance renewals and insurance requirements for acquisitions, refinancing, development, construction, and lender activities. Oversee significant property and liability claims from initial reporting through resolution. Monitor claims, reserves, coverage issues, repairs, and insurance recoveries. Review contracts for appropriate insurance, indemnification, and risk-transfer provisions. Establish and monitor incident-reporting and risk-management procedures. Partner with Operations, Property Management, and Maintenance on loss prevention and risk reduction. Maintain insurance and claims records and prepare reports for the CFO and senior management. Assist with evaluating the Company's overall cost of risk, including premiums, deductibles, and loss history. Requirements 5-8 years of relevant experience in commercial insurance, risk management, claims, insurance brokerage, contract administration, procurement, or a related field. Strong knowledge of commercial property and casualty insurance. Experience managing property and/or general liability claims. Experience reviewing contracts, insurance requirements, indemnification, and risk-transfer provisions. Experience working with insurance brokers, carriers, adjusters, attorneys, contractors, and vendors. Strong organizational and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders independently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word. Commercial real estate or multifamily housing experience strongly preferred. Why Schochet?
