Job Description

Overview Operating various types of material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or dollies to move materials consisting of raw, work in process, and finished good throughout the production environment and/or warehouse in a time, safely, and organized manner. Work while abiding by safety guidelines and housekeeping regulations set in place. Duties Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, performing any combination of following duties. Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools. Conveys materials to or from storage or work sites to designated area, using hand truck, electric dolly, or other device. Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Inspect fork truck daily according to GEM's fork truck checking policy Deliver materials to all point of use areas throughout plant and warehouse according to team Qualifications High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) Certified fork truck license with no accidents. Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks in a fast-paced environment Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and inventory control procedures Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently while following OSHA safety standards in production settings Familiarity with shipping & receiving processes, order picking techniques, and materials handling best practices Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and documentation accuracy Prior experience in warehouse management or supervision is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential Excellent manual handling skills combined with a commitment to safety standards in all warehouse operations
Pay:
$17.00 - $19.50 per hour
