The Property Steward plays a critical role in delivering a refined and seamless guest experience at Promontory. This non-exempt, full time on-site position is responsible for the aesthetic stewardship, cleanliness, and functional readiness of the property, supporting daily winery operations, hospitality experiences, and special events. Success in this role requires a service-oriented mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to execute both elevated hospitality support and hands-on operational tasks with consistency and pride.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Hospitality & Guest Experience Support
Maintain all guest-facing areas to the highest standards of presentation, cleanliness, and readiness
Support the choreography and flow of daily hospitality activity to ensure seamless guest experiences
Prepare daily visit accoutrements, including wine service and culinary accompaniments such as Parmesan and grissini
Ensure hospitality spaces are fully prepared, functional, and consistently stocked.
Coordinate and assist with the set-up and breakdown of private visits, experiences, and special events
Provide hospitality support at Harlan Estate and BOND as needed Inventory & Operational Support
Assist with monthly wine and non-wine inventory counts
Unload, organize, and restock wine across designated storage locations
Coordinate inventory and replenishment of hospitality supplies, tools, and shared break room needs for hospitality and winemaking teams.
Proactively monitor inventory levels and communicate supply and equipment needs to the Hospitality team
Assist with coordinating winery staff lunches during harvest and peak activity periods Property Care & Maintenance
Clean and sanitize restrooms, hospitality spaces, kitchens, break rooms, and workspaces
Clean windows, windowsills, sinks, countertops, appliances, furniture, and fixtures
Vacuum, sweep, mop, shampoo, and maintain flooring and stairways
Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors as required
Dust furniture, walls, machinery, and equipment
Empty trash, replace liners, and manage recycling of corrugated boxes and glasses
Assist with moving and relocating furniture, equipment, and machinery as required
Coordinate with Facilities and Maintenance to address property needs in a timely and discreet manner Safety, Compliance & Security
Follow all procedures for chemical labeling, dilution, storage, and use
Maintain Janitorial closets and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition
Wear provided and approved attire in alignment with approved work uniforms
Monitor building security, including securing doors after operating hours and identifying potential hazards
Operate winery vehicles on occasion
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
Perform other related duties as assigned
Maintain consistent communication and coordination with the Hospitality teams
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of four (4) years' experience in a luxury hospitality, estate, or high-end property environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Highly detail-oriented with a service-driven mindset
Proactive, honest, and trustworthy
Ability to work independently and perform effectively under pressure
Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude
Valid California driver's license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 95 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including frequent and continuous movement on foot between multiple locations across the property, both indoors and outdoors
Ability to work on hard, uneven, and varied surfaces for prolonged periods (up to 12 hours daily)
Ability to frequently grasp, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb stairs, reach overhead, and perform repetitive motions associated with cleaning, setup, and operational support tasks
Ability to perform physical tasks requiring coordination, balance, and manual dexterity

The pay scale for this position is $23.00-$24.00 per hour. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data.
