Full-Time Position Summary TMG & Haartz Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Raw Materials Purchasing, Logistics and Project Manager to join our growing automotive manufacturing startup operation in Bostic, NC. This is a unique opportunity to join a newly established manufacturing facility and play a key role in building and developing the company's raw-material supply chain, supplier network, logistics processes, and material-related project activities . The Raw Materials Purchasing, Logistics and Project Manager will serve as a key U.S. interface between the Bostic manufacturing facility and the Development Centre and Purchasing Department in Portugal . This position will coordinate raw-material sourcing, supplier qualification, purchasing, logistics, inventory planning, industrialization, and implementation activities to ensure the plant has the materials required to support successful production. The position will work closely with Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Production, Finance, Logistics, suppliers, customs brokers, and company leadership to ensure raw materials meet technical, quality, cost, supply, and timing requirements . The successful candidate will be a proactive, analytical, organized, and highly collaborative professional who is comfortable managing multiple priorities in a startup environment. This individual will be expected to identify supply-chain risks, coordinate solutions, manage projects, develop supplier relationships, and take ownership of raw-material activities from sourcing through production implementation. This position will have significant visibility across the organization and will play an important role in establishing a reliable, cost-effective, and scalable raw-material supply chain as TMG & Haartz Solutions grows. Candidate Profile Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management, Industrial Management, or a related field required; the specific field of study may vary depending on the candidate's relevant experience. 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, logistics, materials management, or a related manufacturing environment Demonstrated experience with purchasing and supplier management, preferably involving raw materials Experience coordinating international purchasing, logistics, imports, or customs processes Experience working with customs brokers and U.S. import requirements Demonstrated project-management experience involving cross-functional teams Experience working with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders Experience in an automotive, chemical, textile, coated-material, plastics, or other manufacturing environment preferred Experience working within a multinational organization or with international teams preferred Strong understanding of supply-chain, purchasing, logistics, and inventory-management principles Working knowledge of Incoterms, international trade, and U.S. customs requirements Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to evaluate supplier quotations, costs, lead times, transportation, duties, and total landed cost Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced startup environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with U.S. and international teams Proficiency with ERP/purchasing systems, Microsoft Office, and standard reporting/project-management tools Key Responsibilities Raw Materials Purchasing & Supplier Management Serve as the primary U.S. interface for raw-material purchasing activities supporting the Bostic manufacturing facility Coordinate closely with the Development Centre and Purchasing Department in Portugal on raw-material sourcing, qualification, industrialization, and implementation activities Develop and maintain productive relationships with local and international raw-material suppliers Coordinate requests for quotation (RFQs), supplier evaluations, commercial comparisons, and negotiations Evaluate material cost, transportation, duties, lead times, minimum order quantities, and other factors when determining total landed cost Maintain accurate purchasing conditions, material pricing, contractual information, supplier information, and other commercial data within applicable company systems Support supplier selection, localization, supplier-transfer, and dual-sourcing initiatives Identify opportunities for cost reduction and value improvement without compromising product performance, quality, regulatory compliance, or supply reliability Monitor supplier performance and address purchasing or supply issues as they arise Logistics & Customs Coordinate raw-material logistics activities to ensure timely and reliable delivery to the Bostic facility Work with customs brokers and internal stakeholders to support customs clearance and compliance with applicable U.S. import requirements Monitor international shipments, transportation lead times, customs requirements, and potential delivery disruptions Support the development of effective logistics strategies for domestic and international raw-material suppliers Ensure purchasing and logistics activities are aligned with applicable Incoterms, company policies, contractual requirements, and international trade regulations Identify and communicate logistics risks that could affect material availability, production schedules, or project timing Inventory & Materials Planning Monitor supplier lead times, inventory levels, material consumption, forecasts, and production requirements Support the development and implementation of appropriate inventory policies, safety-stock levels, and replenishment parameters Identify potential shortages, excess inventory, long lead-time risks, and other material-supply concerns Work closely with Production, Planning, Purchasing, and Finance to balance material availability, inventory investment, and operational requirements Develop and support contingency strategies for critical and single-source raw materials Monitor material requirements associated with production growth and future plant expansion Support efforts to establish a scalable raw-material planning and replenishment process as the facility grows Raw Materials Project Management Lead and coordinate raw-material workstreams within new product development, localization, industrialization, supplier-transfer, and other plant projects Develop project plans covering sourcing decisions, supplier qualification, material approvals, trial quantities, logistics preparation, production validation, and start-of-production readiness Establish project milestones, responsibilities, timelines, and deliverables Track project progress, risks, open actions, and dependencies Coordinate activities between suppliers, the Development Centre in Portugal, and the Bostic manufacturing facility Coordinate material samples, prototypes, trial quantities, production trials, and approval activities Support supplier-change and material-change processes to ensure commercial, technical, quality, regulatory, and operational requirements are addressed Escalate project issues or deviations that may affect cost, quality, supply continuity, or program timing Maintain appropriate project documentation and communicate project status to management Quality & Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Quality and Technical teams to investigate and resolve raw-material non-conformities, delivery issues, and supplier-performance concerns Support supplier corrective-action and improvement activities Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Finance, and other departments to resolve material-related issues Ensure raw-material requirements and specifications are clearly communicated between suppliers, international teams, and the U.S. plant Support the successful introduction and implementation of new and localized materials into production Participate in cross-functional problem-solving and continuous-improvement initiatives Supply Chain Risk Management Identify supply-chain risks associated with single-source materials, geographical concentration, long lead times, transportation constraints, geopolitical exposure, supplier capacity, and other factors Develop and support risk-mitigation strategies for critical raw materials Evaluate alternative suppliers and sourcing strategies when appropriate Support supplier localization, dual sourcing, alternative materials, and contingency-stock strategies Maintain visibility of supply-chain risks and communicate potential impacts and recommendations to management Support business-continuity and contingency-planning activities related to raw-material supply Reporting & Continuous Improvement Prepare regular purchasing, logistics, inventory, supplier-performance, and project-status reports for management Monitor purchasing costs, savings opportunities, inventory exposure, supplier performance, supply risks, and project milestones Analyze purchasing and supply-chain information to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement Recommend process improvements that improve efficiency, reduce costs, strengthen supply reliability, and support plant growth Support the development of standardized purchasing, logistics, inventory, and supplier-management processes Participate in continuous-improvement initiatives across the Purchasing & Supply Chain function Required Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing startup. The position will require regular interaction with suppliers, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Production, Quality, Engineering, Finance, Logistics, company leadership, and international teams. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in an environment that requires initiative, flexibility, accountability, strong organization, problem solving, and the ability to adapt as the facility and organization continue to grow. International travel, including travel to Portugal , may be required for training, meetings, supplier coordination, project activities, and collaboration with the Development Centre and Purchasing Department. Pay:
$70,308.32 - $84,672.38 per year
