Job Description

Southwest Center is seeking a dependable, motivated, and experienced Residential Manager to oversee services provided within our Staff Residential and Technology Assisted Residential programs. This position requires a hands-on leader who is committed to helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities live safe, meaningful, and independent lives. The Residential Manager will be responsible for maintaining quality services, supporting and developing staff, monitoring compliance, and ensuring each home reflects the individual needs, choices, goals, and preferences of the people who live there.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct oversight of assigned Staff Residential and Technology Assisted Residential locations. Complete routine home visits, including visits during evenings, weekends, and other times when services are being provided. Ensure homes are clean, safe, properly maintained, and operated as the individuals' homes—not as facilities. Supervise, coach, train, and hold residential staff accountable for meeting job expectations. Monitor staffing schedules, open shifts, overtime, call-ins, and coverage needs. Participate in the residential on-call rotation as assigned. Ensure staff are properly trained before working independently. Monitor daily documentation, medication records, individual goals, monthly summaries, money logs, safety drills, and other required records. Confirm that appointments, medical recommendations, medication changes, and follow-up instructions are completed and communicated. Ensure individuals participate in meaningful community activities and receive support toward greater independence. Respond promptly to concerns involving individuals, guardians, staff, case managers, and other members of the support team. Participate in investigations, corrective actions, and performance improvement plans when necessary. Assist with admissions, transition meetings, trial visits, and individual move-ins. Oversee the proper use of enabling technology, including medication monitoring, emergency response systems, door sensors, reminders, and other individualized supports. Review technology alerts and ensure staff respond, document, and follow up appropriately. Ensure technology is used to promote independence, safety, and choice—not for staff convenience. Help educate individuals, families, case managers, and community partners about Technology Assisted Residential services. Support the continued development and growth of Southwest Center's residential programs. Maintain professional communication and respond to work-related emails and requests within 24 hours.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; additional education or leadership experience preferred. Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Residential services, supervisory, or management experience strongly preferred. Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Ability to coach staff, address performance concerns, and follow through on assigned responsibilities. Ability to understand and use technology-based support systems. Must maintain required training and certifications. Must possess a valid driver's license, have an acceptable driving record, and meet all employment screening requirements. Must be available to respond to residential needs outside regular business hours when required.
Job Type:
Full-time Schedule:
11a-7p Tuesday through Saturday, weekends, and on-call responsibilities
