Full-Time About the Role A real estate investment and property management company looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day financial recordkeeping across our property portfolio, ensuring accurate, timely, and well-organized books that support ownership, and operations decision-making. Key Responsibilities Bank & Account Reconciliation Reconcile bank statements and operating/security deposit accounts for all managed properties on a monthly basis Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Maintain accurate cash balances by property/entity Transaction Coding & Recordkeeping Code and enter all financial transactions into the property management/accounting system by property, unit, and GL account Maintain a clean, consistent chart of accounts across the portfolio Ensure supporting documentation (invoices, receipts, contracts) is properly attached and filed Accounts Payable Process vendor invoices, verify accuracy against contracts/POs, and route for approval Prepare and process vendor payments (checks, ACH, wires) on schedule Maintain vendor records, W-9s, and prepare 1099s at year-end Track and resolve AP discrepancies with vendors and property managers Financial Reporting & Close Support Assist with month-end and year-end close, including accruals and journal entries Prepare preliminary financial reports (income statements, balance sheets, rent rolls) for review by the Controller/GM Support budget-to-actual tracking and variance reporting by property Capital Project Support Assist with budget tracking on capital improvement projects Compliance & Audit Support Maintain organized records to support annual audits, tax preparation, and lender/investor reporting requirements Ensure recordkeeping complies with company policy and applicable NJ regulations Qualifications 2+ years of bookkeeping experience, ideally in property management, real estate, or construction Proficiency with property management/accounting software (e.g., AppFolio, Yardi, Buildium, DoorLoop, or QuickBooks) Strong understanding of bank reconciliations, AP/AR processes, and basic GAAP principles High attention to detail and accuracy with numbers Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple properties/entities simultaneously Proficiency in Excel Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality of financial data Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (not required with relevant experience) Preferred Familiarity with NJ landlord-tenant and security deposit regulations Experience preparing reports for ownership/investor review What We Offer $55,000-$65,000 Health insurance and other benefits Opportunity to grow with a hands-on, multifamily investment and construction platform
