Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS
Required :
Three (3) years' experience in maintenance, electrical or mechanical field required; Possession of valid Oregon driver's license; excellent driving record and ability to be insured by the hospital's auto insurance policy; Knowledge of methods and techniques used in electrical, mechanical, and building maintenance; Knowledge of electrical and building codes preferred.
Preferred :
Electrical/plumbing license.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
Medium-heavy to Very Heavy physical demand level capabilities required. Must be able to work independently as well as with co-workers and patients. Must be able to prioritize work demands and organize time efficiently. The mental demands are Medium-Heavy to Very Heavy according to work load.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Inspects, tests, adjusts and repairs all Physical Plant machinery, heating, cooling, and piping and electrical systems as directed and records maintenance in accordance with schedules. Operates and maintains all Physical plant machinery and equipment. Performs basic HVAC repairs and replaces filters. Constructs and repairs building structure, walls, floor, ceiling, cabinets and furniture. Tests and operates emergency generators. Inspects, tests and cleans fire equipment as directed. Inspects, adjusts and repairs miscellaneous hospital equipment including exam tables, gurneys, autoclaves, centrifuge,. Maintains record of all inspections, tests, and repairs. Performs security checks of building, parking lot and equipment. Removes ice and snow from walkways, roads, and parking lot during winter months. Responds to safety and security calls. Inventories orders and changes medical gases and LOX. Maintains competency in all position responsibilities. Demonstrates competence in relation to the defined mission, vision, values, and strategic plan of the organization. This will be apparent by ongoing completion of any or all of the following: proficiency testing, skill demonstration, practice of core standards for service excellence, and documentation review. While performing job tasks, demonstrates awareness of age specific practices of the customer(s). While performing job tasks, demonstrates awareness of cultural and spiritual practices of the customer(s). While performing job tasks, demonstrates awareness of the functional status and physical needs of our customer(s).
