at Northeast Kingdom Human Services in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, United States Job Description Residential Manager The Residential Manager oversees the daily operations, staffing, and regulatory compliance of a licensed residential care home serving individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. This role balances high-level administrative tasks - such as budgeting, hiring, and state licensing compliance - with direct oversight of staff and the delivery of compassionate, hands-on client care.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for overall operation of a licensed residential home (Residential Care Home or Therapeutic Community Residence) serving individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Provides direct supervision to the Assistant Manager of the licensed homes. Responsible for maintaining adequate staff to meet requirements of the program and to supervise, schedule and support staff in the exercise of their duties. Responsible for ensuring that the homes maintain compliance with NKHS policies, and any and all applicable regulations from the State of Vermont Division of Licensing and Protection (DLP) and Developmental Disabilities Services Division (DDSD). Provides after-hours, on-call managerial support to the home on a rotating basis, fifty percent of the time; shared duty with the Residential Assistant Manager Provides service coordination for the Homes' residents in conjunction with the Residential Assistant Manager and/or Service Coordinator. Responsible for ensuring that the facilities are maintained in a safe, clean and home-like manner Responsible for overseeing the implementation of client-specific plans and protocols by residential staff. Responsible for providing in-home support and follow up with medical and programmatic needs of the individuals after successfully completing med delegation. Responsible for providing for the physical, emotional, therapeutic and adaptive needs of the consumers, including but not limited to physical care, training, assistance in daily living skills, and care and supervision of all activities of daily living. Responsible for providing for the safety and general well-being of the consumers in a humane and caring manner, including protection from others, protection from exploitation, protection from physical harm and aggressive and/or self-injurious behavior, which may require physical intervention by staff in situations where consumers are aggressive. Must demonstrate a capacity to respond non-punitively, and in ways that encourage positive growth, to behavioral challenges and physical demands of the consumer. Responsible for assisting consumers in relating to family, community, and other team members in a competent and respectful manner. Responsible for providing direct care to consumers to meet their physical needs. This includes but is not limited to bathing, toileting, lifting, transferring, and physical assistance.
