About The Position The Executive Director (E.D.) serves as the full-time chief administrative employee and oversees daily management and operations of ERWoW, reporting to and working closely with the Board of Directors to shape strategic initiatives, drive legislative advocacy, and grow member value.

Overview:

The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of Evergreen Rural Water of Washington (ERWoW) and is responsible for advancing the organization's mission to support and strengthen rural water and wastewater systems throughout Washington State. The Executive Director provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, financial stewardship, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy on behalf of member utilities and communities. This position works closely with the Board of Directors, staff, regulatory agencies, legislators, funding partners, and member systems to ensure the delivery of high-quality technical assistance, training, and member services. The Executive Director plays a vital role in ensuring rural communities across Washington have access to safe, sustainable, and reliable water and wastewater services. Through leadership, advocacy, and collaboration, the position helps strengthen infrastructure, support compliance, and improve the long-term resilience of rural utility systems statewide. QualificationsDesired Qualifications ERWoW is seeking a person with the demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position with utmost professionalism, integrity, and fairness in meeting with the expectations of the Board of Directors. This can be gained through any combination of experience and/or education. The applicant's employment history should demonstrate a proven track record of success and professional development with increasing levels of responsibility. Well-qualified applicants would benefit from the following: Understanding of water and wastewater issues, laws and regulations, local and national. Bachelor's degree in public administration, business, environmental sciences, engineering, or a related field preferred. Experience in nonprofit leadership, utility management, rural infrastructure, public works, or association management. Knowledge of drinking water and wastewater systems, state and federal regulations, and rural community challenges. Strong leadership, communication, public speaking, and relationship-building skills. Experience with budgeting, grant administration, strategic planning, and organizational management. Ability to work effectively with boards, government agencies, elected officials, and diverse stakeholder groups. Demonstrated commitment to public service and rural community development.

Pay:

$111,461.00 - $122,885.00 per year
