Job Description

Job Responsibilities Plan, direct, and supervise all instructional mailroom operations. Coordinate activities between the institution and the U. S. Post Office. Supervise postal specialists position; supervise the receiving, sorting, and distribution of all U.S. and departmental mail to ensure proper delivery. Open and inspect all incoming mail for contraband. Prepares various logs and reports daily. Maintain accurate accounting of all funds. Supervise and coordinate fiscal activities for the E. H. Cooper Trust Fund. Serves as notary public for inmate population. Work closely with property control officer in handling packages received through U.S. Postal service. Possess thorough knowledge of postal regulations. Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire. Minimum and Additional Requirements State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and work experience in postal, courier or delivery operations.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and three (3) years of experience in postal, courier, or delivery operations with one (1) year of supervisory experience. An associate degree or higher with one (1) year of supervisory experience may be substituted for the required work experience.
