Donation Center Location:
Santa Fe, NM Lead a Team. Stay Active. Make a Difference. Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Mexico is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor & Lead Driver to lead our Northern New Mexico Donation Center operations based in Santa Fe. This is a working supervisor position—not a desk job. You will supervise a team of approximately 2-5 employees while spending the majority of your workday performing the same duties expected of your team. You'll spend most of your day driving donation routes, loading and unloading donated clothing and household items, working outdoors, training employees, and leading by example. Paid vacation o 2 weeks annually to start o Increases with years of service o Up to 6 weeks of paid vacation after six years of employment This Is a Hands-On Position This is not a management position spent behind a desk.
You'll work alongside your team every day.
You will regularly:
Drive donation box truck on a collection routes throughout Northern New Mexico.
Load and unload donated clothing, household items, furniture, and other donations.
Lift, carry, push, and pull donations weighing up to 75 pounds.
Work outdoors in all types of New Mexico weather, including heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow.
Climb in and out of trucks repeatedly throughout the day.
Walk, bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive lifting during 10-hour shifts.
Lead by example by helping your team complete routes safely and efficiently. If you enjoy staying active and working outdoors rather than sitting behind a desk, you'll fit right in. Primary Responsibilities Operations
Safely operate donation collection box trucks throughout Northern New Mexico.
Collect donations from homes, businesses, schools, and community partners.
Load and unload donated clothing, household goods, furniture, and other donations.
Coordinate deliveries to our Savers partner.
Help oversee trailer loading and product shipments.
Maintain vehicles and equipment.
Represent Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Mexico professionally while providing outstanding customer service. Leadership
Supervise, train, mentor, and coach a team of 2-5 employees.
Conduct ride-alongs, safety meetings, and employee evaluations.
Assist with scheduling and route planning.
Monitor vehicle condition and coordinate repairs.
Complete reports and other administrative duties.
Lead by example in safety, professionalism, customer service, and work ethic. Qualifications We're looking for someone who enjoys both leadership and working in the field. Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Valid New Mexico driver's license with a clean driving record.
Minimum of 6 years of professional box truck driving experience (route or delivery experience preferred).
Minimum of 2 years of previous supervisory or leadership experience.
Strong leadership, communication, mentoring, and customer service skills.
Ability to regularly lift 25-35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Basic computer skills for scheduling, reporting, data entry and documentation.
