Posting Details The General Services Department (GSD) supports the operations of state government by providing essential services, including procurement, risk management, facilities management, transportation services, and printing services. The Transportation Services Division (TSD), State Centralized Fleet Authority Bureau (SCFA) manages the state's fleet of vehicles, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation solutions for state agencies. TSD provides vehicle leasing, maintenance, fuel services, and fleet management expertise to support government operations statewide. Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date. Why does the job exist? This position exists to provide oversight of the State Centralized Fleet Authority Bureau's Long-Term and Short-Term Vehicle Leasing Programs. The position oversees leasing operations and ensures that 54 state agencies are meeting program and reporting requirements. This includes oversight of three Short-Term Leasing locations, two in Santa Fe and one being established in Las Cruces. How does it get done?
Key responsibilities include:
Provide direction and assignments to TSD account managers supporting leasing programs for 54 state agencies and oversee the daily operations of three Short-Term Leasing locations. Provide direction and oversight for the Fleet Management database to ensure vehicle mileage, maintenance, repair, and other fleet information is accurately maintained. Oversee the TSD Fleet Accident Review Board process, ensuring accidents are reviewed, required documentation is received and processed, and driver suspension determinations are completed. Ensure account managers complete accurate and timely monthly billing for all leasing programs and review utilization reports to ensure vehicle and fleet utilization is properly reported. Provide training and guidance to new agency fleet coordinators on Long-Term and Short-Term Leasing Program processes and requirements. Who are the customers? Executive and Judicial agencies Ideal Candidate Executive and Judicial agencies Minimum Qualification Associate Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Accounting and four (4) years of directly related job experience operating within parameters and guidelines in the areas of office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management, contract management, and/or in the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico driver license. Must obtain a Defensive Driving certification once employed. This is a safety sensitive position and subject to random drug testing. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting and frequent lifting of 30 to 50 lbs. Fast paced office setting to include walking, standing , inspecting and moving state vehicles. State-wide travel may be required to conduct vehicle inspections.
