Public Authority Clerical Supervisor - Call Center Contra Costa County IHSS Public Authority Pleasant Hill, CA Job Details Full-time $76,554.48 - $97,763.26 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Employee assistance program Vision insurance Retirement plan Qualifications Staff performance monitoring Computer operation Staff supervision Team member evaluation Social service program staff supervision Filing High school diploma or GED Data analytics Clerical experience Office management Full Job Description Job Summary Under supervision of the Executive Director plans, organizes, and supervises the work of a group of Senior Benefits Clerks working in a call center environment, engaged in collecting and recording data, educating and assisting callers on the provider enrollment process, and other clerical work; and performs related work as required. Distinguishing Characteristics Incumbents work under general supervision receiving instruction on priority of projects and on the work methods and techniques to be followed in completing work assignments. The incumbent's primary responsibilities include devoting most of their time to providing direct supervision to subordinates, consumer and provider support, enrollment of providers in the In-Home Supportive Services and payroll systems, and enrollment and disenrollment of providers in the County Health Plan (CCHP) and administering COBRA.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
Possession of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency or a high school proficiency certificate.
Experience:
Four (4) years of full-time or its equivalent clerical experience, one (1) year of which must have involved supervisory responsibility, or three (3) years of full-time or its equivalent as a Senior Benefits Clerk or higher-level clerk in Contra Costa County.

Strong background in service administration Excellent communication skills for effective employee interaction Proficiency in data analysis and employee evaluation techniques Keen eye for detail
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of:
Principles of effective supervision Office and clerical procedures Computers and computer systems including hardware and software to enter data and process information Correct punctuation, spelling and grammatical usage Case Management Information and Payroll System (CMIPS) Administration of COBRA and its regulations Ability to: Plan, organize, and supervise the work of others Communicate effectively with employees, officials, and the public Prepare clear and concise reports Develop, write, and update office procedures Understand and carry out oral and written direction Perform difficult and complex clerical work Motivate, develop, and direct staff Maintain records, reports, and files Monitor employee performance Perform simple balancing of a checking account Balance and reconcile check logs for checks received from providers for health coverage premiums Administer the County's Health Plan and COBRA for providers Typical Tasks Supervise, plan, assign, and review the work of subordinates Interviews and recommends selection of personnel Trains new and existing employees on work procedures and activities Conducts and participates in the evaluation of employees' job performance and recommends appropriate personnel action Participates in the maintenance of the proper conduct and morale of office employees by ensuring Public Authority policies and rules are followed Interprets policy and complex procedures for the guidance of subordinates Evaluates clerical work procedures, office forms, and recommends changes accordingly Supervises the maintenance of time and attendance records and makes decisions on routine personnel matters Provides employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems or resolving escalated complaints or issues of the unit
