Audio Visual Technician - Live Entertainment Ka Moana Luau - 4.0 Honolulu, HI Job Details Full-time $20 - $35 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Employee discount Qualifications Outdoor work experience Research Organizational skills Patience Full Job Description Position Overview Ka Moana Luau and Diamond Head Luau are seeking a reliable and resourceful Audio Visual Technician to support our live productions. We are looking for a hands-on self-starter who takes ownership, remains calm under pressure, and approaches challenges with a "figure it out" mindset. If you do not know how to solve an issue, you should be willing to research, troubleshoot, learn, and take initiative to find a safe and effective solution. Responsibilities Complete the daily setup, testing, breakdown, and proper storage of AV equipment. Operate and troubleshoot sound, lighting, video, LED-screen, playback, communication, and related show systems. Execute live-show cues accurately and consistently. Complete pre-show system checks and respond quickly to technical problems. Diagnose equipment issues and make repairs or adjustments within your training and authorization. Assist with production-related electrical and power troubleshooting, referring specialized work to qualified professionals when necessary. Help produce audio, video, lighting, and playback content in-house. Maintain clean, organized sound booths, control areas, equipment, cables, tools, and storage spaces. Perform basic preventive maintenance and promptly report damaged, missing, or unsafe equipment. Help create cue sheets, operating procedures, troubleshooting guides, and training materials. Train to support both Ka Moana Luau and Diamond Head Luau. Communicate professionally with show leadership, performers, musicians, and production staff. Follow all safety requirements and obtain approval before making changes that affect the production. Qualifications Live audio, lighting, video, LED-wall, or playback experience preferred. Familiarity with digital sound consoles, wireless microphones, signal flow, lighting consoles, DMX, media playback, and basic networking is preferred. Strong troubleshooting, organization, and communication skills. Able to learn unfamiliar equipment and software independently. Reliable, punctual, attentive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced live environment. Respectful of Hawaiian and Pacific Island cultures and the performers who share them. Physical and Scheduling Requirements Available to work 3-6 days per week, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Able to work in indoor and outdoor environments around loud sound, theatrical lighting, electrical equipment, weather exposure, and fire performances. Able to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, and safely lift or move 50+ pounds. Must have reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
