full-time Purpose To support the design team in creating timeless, thoughtfully curated homes through exceptional organization, creativity, and attention to detail. As a Junior Designer, you will play an integral role in bringing each project to life by assisting with the design process from concept through installation while upholding the elevated level of service and design excellence synonymous with Kate Marker Interiors. Role Overview As a Junior Designer, you'll collaborate closely with our talented design team to help execute luxury residential projects with precision and creativity. This role requires someone with 1-3 years of working residential interior design experience who is eager to continue developing their design skills while contributing to every phase of a project. You will assist with sourcing furnishings and finishes, preparing client presentations, maintaining project documentation, coordinating with vendors, and supporting installations. Success in this role requires exceptional organization, strong communication skills, an eye for design, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented junior designer who thrives behind the scenes just as much as they enjoy contributing creatively. Every detail matters, and every interaction should reflect the professionalism, warmth, and elevated design experience our clients expect. Key Responsibilities Design Development & Project Support Assist the design team throughout all phases of residential interior design projects, from initial concept through final installation. Support the selection and sourcing of furniture, lighting, plumbing, textiles, artwork, accessories, and finish materials that align with each project's vision and budget. Prepare client presentations, mood boards, finish boards, material palettes, and design documentation. Project Coordination Maintain accurate project information, specifications, pricing, lead times, and documentation. Coordinate with vendors, manufacturers, workrooms, and trade partners to obtain quotes, samples, product information, and order updates. Assist with project purchasing, sample management, and design library organization. Site Visits & Installations Participate in client meetings, site visits, measurements, and installation days. Assist with project styling and final project completion to ensure every space meets the Kate Marker Interiors standard. Team Collaboration Work closely with Designers, Procurement, Warehouse, and Operations to ensure projects move efficiently from concept to completion. Communicate proactively and professionally while supporting multiple active projects simultaneously. Continuous Learning Remain current on industry trends, furnishings, materials, and emerging design resources. Demonstrate a willingness to learn, accept feedback, and continually develop professionally within a collaborative studio environment. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field. 2-3 years of working residential interior design experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Keynote, and Microsoft Office. In-person only. No remote or hybrid considered. Strong understanding of residential furnishings, materials, textiles, lighting, and finish selections. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional organizational and time management abilities with strong attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a collaborative mindset. Desired Qualifications Experience working within a high-end residential interior design firm. Knowledge of Studio Designer or Monday.com Experience assisting with furniture installations and project styling. Photography, graphic presentation, or rendering experience is a plus.
