This person will serve as the operational backbone of the studio, ensuring projects stay on track, deadlines are met, communication is clear, and the team has the systems and support needed to work efficiently. The ideal candidate has experience working within the interior design industry and understands the unique workflow of a design firm, including procurement, vendors, client communication, project timelines, installations, and the many moving parts involved in high-end residential projects. This is not a design position. The Operations Manager will not be responsible for creating interiors or design concepts, but must understand the design process and be comfortable working closely with designers. This is all an in office position, not remote or hybrid.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Oversee the day-to-day management of multiple interior design projects, including timelines, budgets, purchasing, orders, deliveries, installations, and outstanding items. Keep designers, vendors, trades, clients, and other project partners aligned and informed. Monitor deadlines and proactively identify and resolve scheduling, procurement, or project issues. Establish, document, and improve internal systems and workflows to increase efficiency and accountability. Oversee procurement processes, including purchase orders, vendor communication, order tracking, deliveries, and issue resolution. Manage office operations, calendars, schedules, files, and administrative processes. Maintain accurate project and financial information and assist with project reporting and budgeting. Serve as the primary resource for the team's project-management and operational software. Help evaluate and implement systems and processes as the firm continues to grow. Prior professional experience within the interior design industry is required. Proven experience in operations, project management, office management, or studio management. Strong understanding of the workflow and business operations of an interior design firm. Design experience is not required, but candidates must understand the design process and be comfortable working alongside designers. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a professional approach to clients, vendors, and team members. Proficiency with technology and the ability to learn and manage business software systems. Experience with Design Manager is strongly preferred.
