Job Description

Overview We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Art Restorer and Conservator to join our dynamic team dedicated to preserving and revitalizing artistic masterpieces. In this role, you will utilize your expertise in conservation techniques, artistic craftsmanship, and technical proficiency to restore artworks while respecting their historical integrity. Your work will ensure that cultural treasures are preserved for future generations, blending meticulous craftsmanship with innovative restoration methods. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals eager to make a meaningful impact in the field of art preservation and conservation. Responsibilities Assess the condition of artworks through detailed examinations, documenting damages and deterioration. Develop and implement tailored restoration plans using appropriate techniques and materials to stabilize and repair artworks. Use hand tools, specialized conservation equipment, and fabrication techniques to clean, repair, and conserve sculptures or other art forms. Collaborate with curators, museum staff, and clients to communicate restoration processes clearly and ensure project goals align with preservation standards. Maintain detailed records of all conservation procedures, materials used, and condition reports for each artwork. Stay current with best practices in conservation. Requirements Proven experience in art restoration or conservation within a museum or gallery environment. Knowledge of fine art fabrication techniques and processes. Knowledge of conservation fabrications techniques, carpentry, and the use of hand tools or power tools for fabrication purposes. Excellent client communication skills to explain complex restoration processes clearly and professionally. Ability to work meticulously with a keen eye for detail while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in photography, video editing, web design, interior design or related fields is a plus to enhance presentation quality. Physical capability to handle delicate materials using hand tools and perform fine detailed work requiring precision. Pay:
