RBT Program Instructor Registered Behavior Technician
Part-Time Evening Position

Exeter, NH
Exeter Adult Education is seeking a qualified Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to serve as the instructor for our Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Training Program.
This is a part-time evening teaching position responsible for delivering a portion of the BACB-aligned 40-hour RBT training program to adult learners preparing for a career supporting students and individuals through behavior-analytic services.

Thursday evenings, 5:008:00 p.m.

Primary Responsibilities
The RBT Instructor will:
Teach and facilitate the BACB 40-hour RBT training curriculum.
Provide engaging, practical instruction using discussion, modeling, role-play, demonstrations, case examples, and other behavioral skills training strategies.
Prepare students for the knowledge and skills required to pursue RBT certification.
Monitor student participation, progress, and completion of required training hours.
Provide feedback and support to adult learners throughout the program.
Maintain accurate training and attendance documentation.
Collaborate with Exeter Adult Education staff to support student success and program development.
Ensure training is delivered in accordance with current BACB requirements.
Required RBT Training Content
The instructor(s) will deliver the current
BACB 2026 RBT
40-Hour Training Curriculum, including:
A. Introduction to Applied Behavior Analysis 2 hours
Purpose and features of applied behavior analysis
Stimuli, responses, and the three-term contingency
Positive and negative reinforcement
Functions of behavior
Verbal operants
Baseline, intervention, generalization, and maintenance
B. Preparing for Service Delivery 1 hour
Reviewing client and session information
Preparing the service environment and materials
Building rapport and gaining assent
Preparing clients for service delivery
C. Data Collection and Graphing 3 hours
Observable and measurable descriptions of behavior
Operational definitions
Data-collection procedures
Calculating and summarizing data
Graphing and interpreting data
Reporting changes in data to a supervisor
D. Assisting with Behavior Assessments 3 hours
Skill-based assessments
Preference assessments
Functional assessments

The instructor will incorporate practical application, modeling, role-play, interactive activities, and opportunities for students to demonstrate understanding of RBT concepts and procedures.
Qualifications
Required:
Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
Completion of the BACB-required 8-hour supervision training.
Experience in applied behavior analysis and/or behavioral services.
Strong communication and instructional skills.
Ability to work effectively with adult learners and professionals entering the field.
Preferred:
Experience training paraprofessionals, educators, or RBT candidates.
Experience working in school-based or educational settings.
Experience with adult education, professional development, or workforce training.
Experience using behavioral skills training, modeling, and role-play.
