Be an advocate for students and families within your classroom and school. Job Responsibilities
Create a classroom environment that reflects and promotes the mission of the School District of Athens
Provides explicit art instruction aligned with grade level standards
Plan, develop, and implement art curriculum
Purchase art materials, maintain inventory, and prepare materials for students
Teach art techniques, art history, and aesthetics through lectures and demonstrations
Assess and evaluate student progress, and provide constructive feedback
Create a safe and supportive classroom environment that fosters learning and creativity
Use creativity to come up with new projects and ideas for students, and to help students develop their own creativity
Collaboration and plan with colleagues and peers to develop a positive learning environment for all students
Collaborate and communicate effectively with parents
Ability to use assessments and data in planning and guide instruction
Support and follow School Board policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned Skills and Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor degree in applicable discipline
Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Teaching License Art #1550
Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality
Proven ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with keen attention to detail
Be an independent problem solver
Demonstrate integrity and good moral character and initiative
Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm, dependability, compassion, humor, and other interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community Pre-employment screenings (criminal background check and physical) are required by Wis.

Pay:
$40,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
