  • Be an advocate for students and families within your classroom and school. Job Responsibilities
  • Create a classroom environment that reflects and promotes the mission of the School District of Athens
  • Provides explicit art instruction aligned with grade level standards
  • Plan, develop, and implement art curriculum
  • Purchase art materials, maintain inventory, and prepare materials for students
  • Teach art techniques, art history, and aesthetics through lectures and demonstrations
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, and provide constructive feedback
  • Create a safe and supportive classroom environment that fosters learning and creativity
  • Use creativity to come up with new projects and ideas for students, and to help students develop their own creativity
  • Collaboration and plan with colleagues and peers to develop a positive learning environment for all students
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with parents
  • Ability to use assessments and data in planning and guide instruction
  • Support and follow School Board policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned Skills and Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in applicable discipline
  • Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Teaching License Art #1550
  • Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with keen attention to detail
  • Be an independent problem solver
  • Demonstrate integrity and good moral character and initiative
  • Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm, dependability, compassion, humor, and other interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community Pre-employment screenings (criminal background check and physical) are required by Wis.

Pay:
$40,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
