Off-Ice Hockey Skills Coach The Sports Complex - 4.1 Rolling Hills Estates, CA Job Details Part-time $50 - $75 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Gym membership Qualifications Working with athletes Kinesiology Sports team experience Swimming Teaching Full Job Description Job Summary We are hiring an Off-Ice Hockey Skills Coach to run off-ice stick skills training, including team sessions, clinics, and private lessons. This role focuses on helping players improve their shooting, stickhandling, passing, and overall game habits off the ice. A strong hockey background is required, and knowledge of athletic performance and strength training is a major plus. Responsibilities Run off-ice skill sessions for teams, small-group clinics, and private 1-on-1 lessons. Teach proper shooting mechanics (weight transfer, quick release, shooting in stride), puck control, and passing. Design progressive drills that translate directly to on-ice performance. Give clear, actionable feedback to players to fix technical flaws and build good habits. Manage group flow and keep sessions structured, safe, and high-tempo. Keep training areas (fake ice, shooting lanes, dryland equipment) clean, organized, and properly maintained. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and coaches about player progress and scheduling.
Qualifications Hockey Background:
High-level playing or coaching experience (Pro, College, Junior, College, AAA, or equivalent).
Coaching Experience:
Experience teaching hockey skills to youth and high school players in team and private settings.
Instructional Ability:
Strong understanding of modern hockey mechanics and the ability to break down skills for all ages and skill levels. Bonus /
A Plus:
Background in sports performance, strength and conditioning, or kinesiology.
Pay:
$50.00 - $75.00 per hour
