Job Description
North Reading Public Schools is seeking a Softball Coach for the Spring 2027 season. North Reading Public Schools is actively looking to build a diverse workforce to ensure all students feel welcome, safe, and valued for who they are and supported to reach their potential.
This position is anticipated to run from March until completion of the Spring season.
Essential Duties
Develop a comprehensive program in grades 9 through 12
Develop seasonal/weekly/daily practice schedule
Teach rules, skills, and game strategies of the sport
Develop team rules and regulations regarding team discipline
Attend and supervise team activities including awards presentations
Distribute and collect equipment pre- and post- season
Implement and enforce student handbook, MIAA, & CAL rules
Assist in the storage, care, condition, and safety of practice and game equipment
Inspect practice and playing facilities & report unsafe conditions
Assist with transportation if appropriate (drive school supplied van)
Requirements
Coaching and playing experience
Appropriate certification and/or license
MIAA Coach's Certification preferred
Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
