Stipend Only Current teachers under contract with Granite School District do not need to apply to be a coach. Please contact the school and make them aware of your coaching interest.
Job Summary:
The incumbent will be responsible for directing, or assisting to direct, a competitive sport program and meeting the Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) requirements for the program. The coach is both a mentor and positive role model for all students with which they interact.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to build a positive working relationship with students, school staff, administration, parents, and the community. Skill in developing young athletes while building a strong, positive, and competitive team culture that includes good sportsmanship and excellence in the classroom. Ability to mentor, train, and educate athletes in the sport and the necessary skills and techniques related to the game. Ability to foster excellence and a winning culture both on and off the court or field. Ability to train and educate student athletes in safety and injury prevention. Knowledge of UHSAA requirements and regulations. Ability to continue a program with strong traditions and the skills necessary to work with an involved community.
Minimum Requirements:
Cleared background check through Granite School District High school diploma or equivalent Requires completing multiple trainings and maintaining multiple certifications, including anti-bullying/hazing training, concussion training, and First Aid/CPR certification. Specific requirements may vary depending on the position. Coaches have significant unsupervised access to students and are required to clear a background check prior to serving as a coach.
