Job Position Description & Details Position Summary:

The History program, part of the Department of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Interdisciplinary Studies at Minot State University, Minot, ND, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in 20th-century American History to begin in August 2027. The successful candidate should be able to teach general education courses in American history and upper-level courses in areas of specialization. Experience working with and supervising student teachers is highly desirable. Ability to mentor and supervise student applied projects strongly encouraged.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will teach four courses each term. Student teacher supervision counts as one of these courses. Most classes are offered on-campus with some potentially offered in a hybrid/remote format. This position emphasizes teaching as well as an ongoing commitment to research and university service. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in History awarded by August 2027.
