MSU is a public university, serving a diverse student body of approximately 2800 students, regional, national, and international in character, with over 57 degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Position Summary and Responsibilities Minot State University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of English, who will begin in August 2027. This is a tenure-track position. The teaching load for faculty at MSU is 12 credit hours per semester (fall and spring), with a course load for this position loosely split 3/1 or 2/2 per term between Writing and British Literature. There is also the possibility of teaching other courses in the program based on interest and expertise. As part of teaching, the candidate will advise students and provide guidance on their academic pursuits, internships, capstone projects, and other endeavors. In addition, the candidate will maintain an active program of scholarly activity and demonstrate a commitment to service within the department, university, community, and field. Applications will be considered until the position is filled. Qualifications Applicants must hold a PhD in British Literature and have expertise in teaching writing. Priority will be given to applicants with evidence of (1) teaching experience, (2) a record of service to campus and community, and (3) an active program of research and creative endeavor. Compensation Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
