Job Description
Training and Educational Institute Coordinator, EMS, Days, FT The Training & Educational Institute (TEI) Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all educational programs provided through the EMS Training & Educational Institute. Working under the direction of the EMS Director and Medical Director, and applicable state and national standards, the TEI Coordinator provides leadership and oversight of all EMS Instructors and Adjunct Instructors while ensuring quality instruction, regulatory compliance, and successful delivery of EMS education and certification programs. Responsibilities include course administration, instructor oversight, student success, accreditation requirements, continuing education, community outreach, and management of learning platforms. The TEI Coordinator may also respond to emergency 911 calls and perform other EMS duties as operational needs require. Essential Key Job Responsibilities
Coordinate and oversee all Training & Educational Institute (TEI) programs.
Supervise and coordinate instruction for EMR, EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic courses.
Ensure compliance with Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services (KBEMS), National Registry, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
Complete all required course reporting, documentation, and record submissions.
Manage student records, testing requirements, and course documentation.
Administer and maintain learning platforms including Jones & Bartlett and Platinum Planner.
Coordinate classroom, laboratory, simulation, clinical, and field internship education.
Provide direct oversight of all EMS Instructors and Adjunct Instructors, including recruitment, scheduling, mentoring, performance evaluation, and ongoing professional development.
Coordinate instructor assignments to ensure appropriate staffing and coverage for all TEI educational programs, continuing education courses, community outreach initiatives, and regional training activities.
Monitor instructor credentials and ensure compliance with certification and licensure requirements.
Maintain employee certification records and monitor expiration dates for required licenses and certifications.
Coordinate continuing education programs for EMS personnel.
Instruct or oversee BLS, First Aid, Stop the Bleed, ACLS, PALS, and other certification courses.
Coordinate EMS Academy programs, Hands-Only CPR, Stop the Bleed, First Aid, and other community education initiatives.
Oversee Pediatric Readiness and other accredited educational or quality improvement programs.
Identify opportunities for employees to obtain EMS Instructor, Critical Care, Community Paramedic, and other professional certifications.
Participate in quality improvement, curriculum development, accreditation activities, and program evaluation.
Maintain training equipment, simulation equipment, educational technology, and instructional supplies.
Develop and maintain partnerships with schools, colleges, healthcare organizations, public safety agencies, and community organizations to expand educational opportunities.
Assist with grant development, reporting requirements, and educational initiatives that support organizational growth. Respond to 911 emergencies, disasters, or other EMS assignments as operational needs require.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of EMS. Required Education High school diploma or equivalent Required Licensure and Certifications
