Instructional Coach - TOSA

Job Description

HFM BOCES

has an immediate opening for a full-time Instructional Coach (TOSA) (1.0 FTE) who will be responsible for working with districts in a variety of roles. The successful candidates will possess strong interpersonal skills, classroom teaching experience and the ability to facilitate professional development.

Expected duties:

Serve in the development and support the implementation of instructional plans that align to NYS standards, district goals and curricula Work with teachers and administrators to analyze student data, diagnose instructional needs and identify research-based instructional strategies to close achievement gaps. Provide individual and/or group instructional coaching and mentoring to teachers to improve classroom instruction for all learners Manage and distribute instructional resources to teachers and provide training on the use of those resources Encourage and support the implementation of technology and innovative strategies in the classroom Extensive understanding of NYS learning standards Extensive understanding of various instruction strategies

•Salary commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:

Qualifications/Experience Must hold a valid NYS Teaching Certificate Classroom teaching experience (5+ years preferred) Experience in development, preparation and presentation of professional development (preferred); training will be provided Experience / Ability to utilize data to guide and support instructional strategies to close performance gaps (preferred); training will be provided TEACH Clearance Per Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, to be employed in a position designated by a school district or BOCES as involving direct contact with students, a clearance for employment from the State Education Department is required. Formal job offer/selection is contingent on ability to obtain a fingerprint security clearance through the TEACH system prior to working.
