Continuing Education General Summary The Truck Driving Instructor will train students to have the knowledge to pass the commercial vehicle and driving exams to obtain a career in the transportation industry. Specific Position Duties Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal regulations concerning the operation of commercial motor vehicles. Provides classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction. Trains students in the basic operation of various combinations, such as vacuum trailers, flatbeds, dry vans, etc. Evaluates student capabilities and progress in accordance with State of Texas standardized testing materials. Responsible for recordkeeping and data entry. Ability to work in all types of outdoor weather conditions. Ability to perform a wide range of motion and mobility tasks involving climbing, crawling, bending, pulling, and lifting while teaching and demonstrating operation procedures. Willingness and ability to teach various courses, times, locations, and delivery methods, as needed and as reasonably requested by the college. Delivers material in a clear and understandable manner. Maintains effective relationships with professional counterparts throughout the college and community. Complies with all college, state, and local procedures, rules, and regulations.
