Job Description

Position Description for Rangely School District, Rangely, Colorado The Rangely School District in Rangely, Colorado , is seeking a highly qualified Jr. High/Sr. High School Principal . The district wishes to have the successful candidate assume the responsibilities of the position as soon as possible.

Location:

90 miles north of Grand Junction, Colorado in the Book Cliffs Mountain Range in Northwest Colorado's Great West Region.

The District:

The Rangely School District operates on a 4-day week, Monday - Thursday. The district celebrates small class sizes and a collective commitment to meet the needs of all students.

The Qualifications :

The successful candidate must be a highly professional leader who possesses the ability to provide a comprehensive high school program that prepares students to transition to post-secondary education or work setting.

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience as Activities Director. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Leadership and organizational skills and the ability to motivate people. Ability to work cooperatively with staff, students, parents, and community. Knowledge of basic elements of instruction, curriculum, and assessment. Knowledge of effective employee supervision and evaluation procedures and techniques. Knowledge of curriculum concepts and materials. Knowledge of effective and appropriate teaching strategies, curricular programs and materials. Knowledge of effective student disciplinary and control procedures and practices.
