Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit The Division of Student Affairs is responsible for providing various student support, services and educational programs accessible to the university community. The division supports Pirate success through environments that enhance student development, engagement, belonging, well-being and career readiness. Primary Purpose of Position This position will lead and manage a variety of business and fiscal functions for the seven offices/centers that comprise the Department of Student Engagement. Reporting to the Director of Student Engagement, this position has responsibilities that directly impact the quality of students' educational experiences, interactions with peers, and the campus community at large. The position oversees all fiscal activities within Student Engagement, providing leadership on budgeting, purchasing, student employment, travel, and other financial operations. The position provides administrative and programmatic support to all seven Student Engagement offices/centers. The position develops and implements systems, policies, and staff training that support the unit's operational goals. This position serves as a key member of the Student Engagement Leadership Team and works directly with the Director on unit planning and management.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Financial Management/Business & Records Administration (30%) Planning and Organizing Work/Supervision (20%) Student and Staff Communication (20%) Participate in the life of the university & community engagement (10%) Departmental Management/Information Processing & Decision Making (20%) Minimum Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. License or Certification required by statute or regulation None Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Office management and budget experience Familiarity with Windows environment including Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel and Publisher Experience applying accounting and budget practices preferred.
