Educational Diagnostician - Elementary (Full-Time)
Location:
Cypress, TX Job Type:
Full-Time, Contract (2026-2027 School Year)
Schedule:
40 Hours per Week |
Monday-Friday Job Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Educational Diagnostician with a few years of experience in the field, to join a school district in Cypress, TX. This full-time role will focus primarily on elementary aged students, supporting special education services through comprehensive evaluations and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations for elementary students Interpret assessment data to determine eligibility for special education services Develop clear, compliant evaluation reports and recommendations Participate in and help facilitate ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings Collaborate with teachers, school psychologists, speech-language pathologists, and other support staff Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education guidelines Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations and student progress Provide guidance to staff and families regarding evaluation results and educational planning Support the implementation of appropriate instructional strategies and accommodations
Qualifications & Requirements:
Active Texas Educational Diagnostician Certification (Required) Master's degree in Special Education, Educational Psychology, or related field Previous experience working with elementary aged students preferred Strong knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and compliance standards (IDEA, TEA) Experience conducting ARD meetings and evaluations (there are ARD specialists on most campuses) Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
