Job Description

Category Schools - General Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a pivotal role supporting 8th grade students as an English Language Arts educator for the upcoming academic year. This full-time opportunity offers the chance to inspire and prepare middle school learners for high school success in an engaging classroom environment. This contract position runs from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, with a Monday-Friday schedule (7:50 am-3:50 pm, including a 30-minute daily break). You'll guide 8th graders through essential ELA standards and develop their skills in reading, writing, and critical thinking.

Desired Qualifications:

Pennsylvania Instructional I or II Certification in ELA (8th grade level) preferred Open to candidates with out-of-state or emergency certification Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience teaching ELA in a middle school setting Strong classroom management abilities and a passion for fostering student growth Ability to design engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver comprehensive ELA instruction to 8th grade students Develop and implement lesson plans that meet diverse learning needs Assess and monitor student progress through various evaluative methods Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment focused on academic and social-emotional growth Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families to enhance educational outcomes Participate in school meetings, professional development, and special activities In this role, you will earn between $33 and $45 per hour, reflecting your expertise and impact in the classroom.
