Job Description

Director of Dyslexia Programs Newberry College | Newberry, South Carolina Elevation Healthcare is assisting Newberry College with the recruitment of a Director of Dyslexia Programs to join its Center for Student Success. This is a direct-hire position with Newberry College . The selected candidate will be employed directly by Newberry College, not Elevation Healthcare. About the Opportunity The Director of Dyslexia Programs will lead the development, implementation, recruitment, and oversight of Newberry College's dyslexia support program for students with diagnosed language-based learning differences. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced educator or dyslexia specialist who is passionate about helping students succeed at the collegiate level while also building and growing a comprehensive support program. The Director will work closely with students, faculty, Admissions, Accessibility Services, Student Affairs, and other campus partners to promote evidence-based, multi-sensory instruction and inclusive educational practices. Key Responsibilities Lead recruitment and enrollment initiatives for the Dyslexia Program and partner with Admissions and Marketing to promote the program to prospective students and families. Build relationships with area high schools, educational consultants, and community organizations to increase awareness of the program. Provide academic coaching, individualized support, onboarding, advising, and orientation for students enrolled in the Dyslexia Program. Collaborate with faculty and staff to implement evidence-based, multi-sensory instructional strategies for students with language-based learning differences. Train and coach faculty and staff on best practices for supporting students with dyslexia and other learning differences. Partner with Accessibility Services to coordinate appropriate student accommodations and support. Guide the use of dyslexia-specific instructional resources, assistive technologies, and student learning tools. Supervise staff and student employees within the Dyslexia Program. Track student progress, accommodation plans, interventions, and program outcomes. Oversee program administration, including grant compliance, reporting, assessment, documentation, and operational budgeting. Stay current on research and best practices related to dyslexia, specific learning disabilities, academic coaching, accessibility, and student retention. Help shape the continued growth and long-term strategy of Newberry College's Dyslexia Program. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field. Minimum of five years of relevant teaching or training experience . Demonstrated expertise in dyslexia education, multi-sensory instructional methods, and academic accommodations . Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field. Experience training educators in best practices for supporting students with learning differences. Familiarity with assistive technologies used to support students with dyslexia. Experience supporting students with ADHD or other co-occurring learning needs. Why This Opportunity?
