Strength & Conditioning Director September 2026 Overview Pure Performance is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Strength & Conditioning Director to lead our performance program across our Katy and The Woodlands locations.
This position is responsible for the development and execution of our youth strength and conditioning programs, with a strong emphasis on soccer athletic development . The ideal candidate will have a background in strength and conditioning, personal training, and soccer, along with the leadership, communication, and sales skills necessary to build trust with families and grow the Pure Performance brand.
The Strength & Conditioning Director will serve as both a coach and leader , overseeing training programs, developing athletes, supporting coaches, building relationships with parents and players, and contributing to the growth of the program. Key Responsibilities Strength & Conditioning & Coaching Design and implement age-appropriate strength and conditioning programs for youth and adolescent athletes. Lead individual training, small-group sessions, and large-group performance classes. Develop athletes in key areas including strength, speed, agility, power, conditioning, mobility, and injury resilience. Conduct performance assessments and track athlete progress. Modify training programs based on athlete age, experience, goals, and ability. Create an engaging, professional, and positive training environment. Ensure all training practices prioritize athlete safety and proper movement mechanics. Soccer Performance Use an understanding of soccer demands to develop sport-specific performance programming. Communicate effectively with soccer players, parents, coaches, and club staff. Build relationships with local soccer organizations, clubs, teams, and coaches. Understand the physical demands of youth soccer and how strength and conditioning can complement technical and tactical training. Leadership & Program Management Oversee the daily operation and development of the Pure Performance program at both locations. Establish and maintain programming standards across Katy and The Woodlands. Train, mentor, and support additional performance coaches. Maintain consistency in coaching quality, programming, and customer experience. Assist with scheduling, athlete assessments, programming, and other administrative responsibilities. Help organize camps, clinics, testing events, and other performance initiatives. Sales & Business Development Conduct consultations with prospective athletes and families. Convert consultations and trials into memberships, private training packages, and other Pure Performance services. Develop relationships with existing families to encourage retention and continued participation. Participate in membership drives, outreach, events, and promotional opportunities. Identify opportunities to increase participation and revenue across both locations. Represent Pure Performance professionally within the soccer and local athletic community. Communication & Brand Development Serve as a primary point of contact for Pure Performance families. Communicate confidently with parents regarding athlete development, goals, progress, and training recommendations. Be comfortable speaking to groups of athletes, parents, coaches, and community organizations. Help establish Pure Performance as a trusted strength and conditioning resource within the local soccer community. Contribute to marketing, community outreach, social media content, and other brand-building initiatives. This job will start as having a guaranteed 10 hours per week. As the program grows, it has the potential to increase into being full time. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Strength & Conditioning, Sport Science, or a related field , or equivalent education and experience. Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification through AHA, ARC, NSC, ASHI, or equivalent. Current Personal Training or Strength & Conditioning certification through NASM, NSCA, ACSM, ACE, or equivalent. 2+ years of professional experience in strength and conditioning, personal training, athletic performance, or a related field. Demonstrated experience coaching large groups in a fitness, athletic, or performance setting. Strong public speaking and presentation skills . Demonstrated sales or business development experience , preferably within fitness, sports performance, or a related industry. Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, and customer service skills. Ability to work with youth athletes and communicate effectively with parents. Ability to work across both the Katy and The Woodlands locations. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a Strength & Conditioning Coach, Director, or Program Manager . Playing or coaching background in soccer . Experience working with competitive or elite youth soccer players. CSCS or other advanced strength and conditioning certification. Experience managing or developing a performance program. Experience hiring, training, or mentoring coaches. Existing relationships within the local soccer community. Proven track record of growing membership, private training, or program revenue. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is more than a coach. They are a leader, communicator, salesperson, and educator who understands both athletic development and the business side of a performance program.
They should be confident leading a room full of athletes, speaking with parents, presenting the value of strength and conditioning, and building relationships within the soccer community.
Most importantly, they should be someone parents can trust with their athletes and someone who can help grow and establish Pure Performance as a leading youth soccer performance program in the Houston area.
