Lead Afterschool Teacher

Job Description

Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Lead Afterschool Teacher to inspire and support children in their afterschool hours. As a leader in our afterschool program, you will coordinate activities, supervise children, and foster positive behavior while promoting growth through creative and educational experiences. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives while developing your leadership skills. This position is part-time working 20 hours per week from the hours of 2-6pm, Monday through Friday. Responsibilities Lead and facilitate engaging afterschool activities that promote learning, creativity, and social interaction. Supervise children during all program activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior management techniques to maintain a respectful and inclusive environment. Collaborate with team members to plan age-appropriate curricula. Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding children's progress, needs, or concerns. Maintain accurate attendance records, activity logs, and safety documentation in compliance with program policies. Maintain a clean and organized environment. Provide homework assistance to the children. Skills Strong classroom management skills to foster a positive learning atmosphere. Experience working with children in a childcare, educational or camp setting. Experience in youth group activity facilitation. Ability to supervise children effectively while demonstrating patience and empathy. Familiarity with childhood development principles and behavior management techniques. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with parents and colleagues.
